The Power to Move
the World

Representative Director and President
Hiromitsu Miyahara

Miyahara Manufacturing is based in the shipbuilding town of Tamano. Right in front of our office, the beautiful Seto Inland Sea stretches out, connecting us to countries all over the world. For more than 100 years, we have been gazing upon this sea.

Human history cannot be told without maritime trade. Ports were established through shipping, towns were built around these ports, and regions flourished. Even today, ships continue to drive the global economy and advance civilization.

Every year, approximately 1.1 billion tons of cargo are transported by sea worldwide, including oil, coal, cement, food, clothing, automobiles, and electronics. Furthermore, 99.6% of Japan's trade volume is carried by maritime transport.

The engine is the heart of the ship. The technology at our company, which manufactures key engine components, plays a vital role in supporting the lives of people around the world. If the supply of engine parts were to stop, the ship would no longer function, just like a heart stopping. And if the ship stops, the world would stop as well. For the sake of all life on Earth, we dedicate ourselves to daily improvement.

The shipbuilding and shipping industries are currently undergoing a major transformation in fuel usage. In efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, initiatives are underway to replace conventional heavy oil with natural gas and other alternative fuels. Our company has recently succeeded in manufacturing parts for next-generation engines.

The next-generation engines, developed to reduce environmental impact and prevent global warming, are an area in which we take great pride. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has set a goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. While achieving economic development, we aim to ensure that it does not burden the global environment. We are committed to making further contributions to the maritime and shipbuilding industries in order to realize a sustainable society. With a forward-looking perspective on the future of human society, we will continue to move forward.

Purpose

Contributing to global shipping, advancing the economy and civilization, and becoming a force that supports the lives of all people.

Slogan

KEEP THE TOMORROWSHIP The power to move forward
into tomorrow,
now and always.

"Tomorrowship" is a coined term created by combining "tomorrow" with "-ship," similar in concept to words like "leadership" (the ability to lead an organization) and "sportsmanship" (the attitude and spirit of fair play and doing one’s best in sports). "Tomorrowship" embodies the idea of "the power to move forward into tomorrow" and "the pioneering spirit for the future."
While "ship" primarily means "ship" (a vessel), it represents our company’s long history of involvement in the manufacturing of marine diesel engine parts and our dedication to supporting the local community through this work. By adding "tomorrow" to "ship," we created the powerful word "Tomorrowship," symbolizing a forward-looking vision.
Just as we have nurtured young people with bright futures, "keeping" (maintaining) "Tomorrowship" expresses our determination to continue striving through our products to shape the future of humanity and create a better tomorrow.
